Exploring the Future of AI Therapy and Seasteading in Above Dark Waters
This blog post delves into the innovative themes of my novel Above Dark Waters, where AI therapy and seastead technology collide in a near-future North Pacific Seastead. Inspired by real-world projects like Microsoft’s Project Natick, the story explores a Floating Tech Cities vision turned dystopian through Dystopian AI Therapy.
Chapter Spotlight: Digital Abyss
In Chapter 3, titled “Digital Abyss,” Ed and the meme team, including Dr. Karen Weiss and Linda, discover a chilling digital drug that creates a perfect addiction by simulating a neural “black hole.” Set in the seastead’s data center, the team debates its implications, with Weiss revealing a visualization of a thought trap that could permanently override the will. Linda’s haunted experience with its seductive yet evil undertones heightens the tension, raising questions about corporate exploitation and the need for secrecy in this Seastead Cyberpunk Fiction narrative.
Why It Matters
The novel’s blend of AI Seastead Technology and ethical dilemmas, exemplified by the digital drug discovery, offers a cautionary tale for our digital age, resonating with readers interested in sci-fi and technology’s future.
